How would you describe your photographic style?
My photography style can be described as classic, genuine, and infused with a personal touch. I aim to capture every angle of the home, ensuring that each image provides a clear visualization of where furniture, a TV, a bed, an entertainment room, and other elements can be placed. My photographs are intended to tell or create a story, and I approach every shot as if I were the prospective buyer. I strive to avoid any unanswered questions about what is just off the edge of a photograph, and I achieve this by keeping all my pictures simple and uncluttered while still reflecting the true character of the home.
What do you enjoy most about real estate photography in your service area?
There are several aspects of real estate photography that I find enjoyable, particularly when working in the Okanagan and other more remote areas. Firstly, I relish the opportunity to travel and explore new locations, allowing me to gain fresh perspectives on my “backyard,” so to speak. Additionally, I take pleasure in discovering the diverse layouts of each home I photograph, highlighting what sets them apart from the rest. The interactions with the people I meet at each home, including both new and familiar realtors, is another aspect that I truly appreciate about this profession.
What advice would you give to someone who was selling their home in your service area?
My advice for those looking to pre-sell their home is not to stress about transforming it into a model home, especially if you have lived there for many years. It is common to accumulate a vast array of items while living in our homes. Instead, focus on tidying your home to the best of your abilities. This may include removing any towels hanging off kitchen appliances and mats from kitchen and bathroom floors. Once you have done this, we can do a walkthrough and assess any further improvements that can be made. Rest assured, this process is simpler than you may think!
What do you like to do away from work?
My journey into photography began when I acquired my first Nikon D60. It sparked a newfound passion and hobby that I never knew existed. I delved into learning as much as I could about photography to improve my skills and share my knowledge with others. As I progressed, I discovered my niche in real estate photography, where every property presented a unique opportunity to capture and showcase its best features to potential buyers. I enjoy the challenge of finding the perfect angles and capturing breathtaking views that truly capture the essence of each home.
